6-Monthly Online Refresher - Keep Your ECO Current Between Site Visits

A short, self-paced online refresher for Wardens and Chief Wardens, completed twice a year - so your team meets the six-month skills retention requirement without another site visit.

What is the Online Refresher?

The touchpoint between your site visits

AS 3745-2010 Clause 6.5.1.1 requires every member of your Emergency Control Organisation to take part in a skills retention activity at intervals of no more than six months. Annual on-site Warden Training and an annual Emergency Drill give you two touchpoints across a 12-month cycle - which leaves a six-month gap in the middle.

This package fills that gap. It is a short, role-appropriate online refresher your Wardens and Chief Wardens complete in their own time, delivered through Allens Training's online course catalogue and booked and tracked through RTS Ready's Training Desk.

Because it is online and self-paced, it keeps your ECO current without pulling your team off the floor for another scheduled session, and without the cost of a second site visit.

2

Enrolment

We enrol your team through Training Desk and each participant receives their access details directly.

3

Self-Paced Completion

Your team works through the refresher in their own time, typically in 30 to 60 minutes, within the agreed window.

4

Certificates & Records

Each participant receives a Certificate of Completion, and completion is recorded in Training Desk for your compliance file.

AS 3745-2010 Clause 6.5.1.1

The Standard requires all ECO members to attend a skills retention activity at intervals not greater than six months. Completing this refresher twice a year, alongside your annual on-site Warden Training and your annual Emergency Drill, gives your Emergency Control Organisation four documented touchpoints across a 12-month cycle - with a completion record for each one.

Ask us a question
Why does the refresher need to happen every six months?

AS 3745-2010 Clause 6.5.1.1 requires all ECO members to attend a skills retention activity at intervals not greater than six months. Annual on-site Warden Training and an annual Emergency Drill only cover two of those touchpoints across a 12-month cycle. The online refresher fills the gap at the six-month mark without requiring another site visit.

Does this replace our on-site Warden Training?

No. It sits between your on-site training and drill cycles, not instead of them. On-site Warden Training is where your ECO learns the roles against your building's actual layout and Emergency Plan; the online refresher keeps that knowledge current in between.

How long does the refresher take to complete?

It is self-paced and typically runs 30 to 60 minutes. Your team completes it in their own time within the refresher window rather than needing to be released together for a scheduled session.

Is there a different course for Chief Wardens?

Yes. Area and Floor Wardens and Communications Officers complete a Warden-level course. Chief Wardens and Deputy Chief Wardens complete a Chief Warden-level course covering command, coordination and decision-making content appropriate to the role. Pricing is per person and reflects the course level.

How do we track who has completed it?

Enrolments and completions are booked and tracked through RTS Ready's Training Desk instance, so your completion records sit in one place rather than scattered across individual inboxes. Each participant receives a Certificate of Completion when they finish.

Is the refresher accredited?

No. Like the rest of the RTS Ready range it is non-accredited, and participants receive a Certificate of Completion rather than a Statement of Attainment. If your team needs a nationally recognised qualification, that is delivered through our sister company RTS Training.

Keep your wardens current all year.

Bundle the refresher into a Combined Package and both rounds are covered for the year.
