A 2-hour on-site visit covering the pre-drill check, occupant instruction, one live scenario, an immediate debrief and a completed drill register - satisfying your annual obligation under AS 3745-2010 and WHS Regulation 43.
A live evacuation exercise is a legislated requirement under AS 3745-2010 and WHS Regulation 43 for facilities with an Emergency Control Organisation. It tests the real-world effectiveness of your emergency procedures, using your site's actual evacuation routes, assembly point and Emergency Plan - exposing gaps before they become incidents.
RTS Ready facilitates the whole thing across a single 2-hour visit. Our trainer confirms the setup, briefs your occupants, runs one live scenario, then debriefs it on the spot with your Chief Warden and management. The drill register is completed and recorded on the day, so your evidence doesn't wait on paperwork.
It's offered as a standalone package for sites that don't need a full Warden Training refresh in the same visit - and it comes with a free Site Compliance Audit.
We agree a date, time and format (full building or floor-by-floor) that minimises disruption to your operations.
On the day we confirm evacuation routes, the assembly point, warden positions and anything specific to the scenario you've chosen.
Occupants are briefed on the evacuation routes, procedures and assembly point protocol before the exercise begins.
Our trainer runs and observes the full exercise from alarm to assembly, with your ECO managing the response as they would for real.
An immediate debrief with your Chief Warden and management, and the drill register completed and recorded before we leave.
The Standard requires facilities with an Emergency Control Organisation to test their emergency response procedures at least annually, and WHS Regulation 43 carries the same expectation. The frequency may increase based on building occupancy, risk level and what your own Emergency Plan commits to. The drill register we complete on the day is your documented evidence that the exercise took place.
Every drill includes one live scenario, chosen from our AS 3745 colour-coded scenario menu below - or keep it straightforward with a baseline full evacuation. We can also build a custom scenario from your own Emergency Plan.
Standard evacuation trigger
Reporting and first aid handover
e.g. failure or threat to essential services
Shelter-in-place or evacuation decision
Search and controlled evacuation procedures
Lockdown/avoidance rather than standard evacuation
A straightforward, baseline evacuation
Full evacuation with persons requiring assistance
Our trainers are not authorised to interact with your fire indicator panel or fire alarm system under any circumstances, so by default the drill runs on a simulated alarm. If you want your real fire alarm and evacuation system triggered as part of the exercise, you'll need to arrange your own technician to isolate and reinstate it - tell us when you book and we'll schedule the drill around that.
AS 3745-2010 requires an annual evacuation exercise for buildings with an Emergency Control Organisation. We've run exercises for:

Ask us a questionAS 3745-2010 requires facilities with an Emergency Control Organisation to conduct at least one evacuation exercise per year. The frequency can be higher depending on your building's occupancy, risk level and what your own Emergency Plan commits to.
Yes. We agree the format with you when scheduling - full building or floor-by-floor - along with a date and time that minimises disruption to your operations. Multi-storey and multi-tenanted buildings often run it in stages.
We do. Our trainer runs a pre-drill site check to confirm evacuation routes, assembly point and warden positions, briefs occupants on the procedure, manages the live exercise from start to finish, then delivers an immediate on-site debrief with your Chief Warden and management.
A drill and exercise register, completed and recorded on the day, which is your evidence that the exercise took place. Findings are delivered in an immediate on-site debrief with your Chief Warden and management straight after the drill, so nothing waits on a report landing weeks later.

Some interruption is unavoidable - that's the nature of the exercise - but the date, time and format are chosen specifically to keep it to a minimum, and your ECO is briefed in advance so the drill runs to a plan rather than descending into confusion.
It makes a real difference. Running Warden Training first means the live drill tests how well your team executes the plan, rather than exposing basic uncertainty about who does what. Many clients book both across a 12-month cycle, or take the Combined Package which bundles them together.
Two hours on-site, one live scenario, and your drill register completed before we leave.
